Australian Swim Schools Conference 2020 heads back to the Gold Coast

 

The Australian Swim Schools Association are running their annual Australian Swim Schools Conference back on the Gold Coast, in conjunction with the SPLASH! Pool and Spa Expo. The conference will run from Monday 27th – Friday 31st July at the Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre and will encompass the World Everyday Safer Inclusive Swim Schools Conference.

Following the success of the inaugural Australian Swim Schools Association Conference on the Gold Coast in 2016, Darwin in 2017, the International Swim Schools Spectacular on the Gold Coast in 2018,Cairns; The Gateway to the Reef this year, the annual event is heading back to the Gold Coast next year in 2020.

Conference 2020 features leading local and overseas presenters. Keynotes include: Angie Baker from SwimKids Swim Schools in the USA, who is presenting on staff leadership development, water safety practices and inclusion; and Young Gun Jai Leighton, Director of F&B at the Star Gold Coast, who is presenting on ‘Inspiring Teamwork to Drive Change’. Others include David Gorman, SwimJim, USA, Theo Millward, SwimTime, UK, as well as presenters on Inclusion, Water Safety and another Young Guns session. Australian Keynote Speaker of the Year, Bruce Sullivan, will also be in attendance, MCing the 5th Annual ASSA Awards Gala as well as running a number of panels throughout the week.

A presentation from the recipient of the ASSA-USSSA Coutts Family Scholarship Year 3 and presentations by the recipients of the Australian Swim Schools Excellence Awards will be yet another feature.

The core conference will be held from 27th to 29th July, and will then flow into the inaugural World Everyday Safer Inclusive Swim Schools Conference on the 30th & 31st, which will include presentations on inclusion and water safety.

ASSA General Manager, Emily McNeill, states “We are very much looking forward to bringing the conference back to the beautiful Gold Coast, which has special ‘winter’ weather at this time of year. We have several international SwimSchoolers who are taking the time to not only attend our Conference, but also present. The program with be top notch, and a conference not to miss”.

This will be ASSA’s 5th Conference, since it’s inception in 2016.
